I shot this recently after a rainy and unpleasant January around San Francisco. With a relatively clear evening in sight I went up to an area called "Marshall's Beach" along the northwest shore of San Francisco, between Baker Beach and the Golden Gate Bridge. I was treated to some lovely color that evening and really enjoyed this shot. It was shot with a Nikon D40 and Sigma 10-20mm lens, with two combined neutral density filters (3 stop soft, and 2 stop hard edge). I often find the resulting colors from this time of day (rich saturated magentas) more often than not trigger reactions of 'photoshopping' the shot, so in actuality what I did here was desaturate the photo a bit and shift the hue a tiny bit back towards blue from magenta/purple. I hope you like it! More details available here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mumbleyjoe/2257530600/
