You Own Your Work 15 February 2008
We've gotten a few questions on ownership rights and wanted to answer them here. We'll be adding this information to the upload and submit pages, too.
When you upload work to Pixish, you retain all rights to your work. That's why you may only upload work that you own the copyright to (you made and have not already sold the exclusive rights to anyone else). You can delete your work from Pixish at any time. And we do not display your originals - the only images we display are the various smaller sizes Pixish automatically generates.
You do not lose any rights if you submit work to an assignment and it does not win. Publishers may not use any work from Pixish for any reason without marking it as a winner in an assignment. You can withdraw a submission from an assignment at any time.
If you do not want to submit to any of the assignments, that's okay! You can still maintain a portfolio of work here to help find clients or just have fun. You lose no rights by doing so.
If you win an assignment, you're subject to the rules the publisher set, so check all the information on the assignment page before submitting.
Thanks for participating, and keep the feedback coming!
