Pixish Visual Assignments for Creative People

Pixish will no longer accept assignments for design work. That means no logos, no blog headers, no templates. We are also instituting an assignment review process, so all new assignments will be reviewed by Pixish admins before going online to check for appropriateness.

Pixish was always supposed to be about pictures - photographs and illustrations - not design work. So we're focusing more explicitly on that goal. We deleted 20 for our first 50 assignments tonight (including my wife's - sorry, sweets), so ya know we mean it. If yours was one of the handful we deleted, you have our apologies - this was our fault for not being more clear.

We continue to seek publishers who want to hold an open call for submissions of photos and illustrations. We still want to get artists' work out there. But if you're looking for design work, please do hire a designer.

The thing about community projects like this is that you never really know how people will use them until you open up to real people. We did that this week, and we learned a lot. We're going to continue to listen and grow.
