The Details
I'm looking for a illustration for a special limited-edition t-shirt for MaximumFun.org's May pledge drive. This is a limited-edition shirt I will print only once and send as a thank-you gift to listeners who have pledged their support.
* No more than three colors, and please use as a base color something from the basic American Apparel tees (http://store.americanapparel.net/2001.html).
* You can mention "Maximum Fun" or "The Sound of Young America" but you are by no means required to do so. The idea is just to have a cool shirt.
* You'll ultimately need to provide your file in a format that can be printed by my pals at BroPrints: http://broprints.com/art_requirements.php
The Reward: $100
1-5 winners will get prizes worth $100.
Our winner will be informed by the community voting and chosen by a celebrity panel.
The top 5 vote-getters will receive a five-song iTunes gift card.
The winner will receive:
* Two free t-shirts featuring their design.
* Host Jesse Thorn will record your voicemail or answering machine greeting to your specifications (presuming it's remote-recordable).
* A pair of Grado SR-60 over-the-ear headphones or Sony EX51 in-ear headphones.
Submission Guidelines:
- Maximum 5 illustration submissions per member.
- Images must be at least 1000 pixels wide/high.
- Illustrations can be hand-drawn, vector line art, paintings, or mixed-media.
- File types allowed: JPG, GIF, or PNG.
The Publication
The Sound of Young America is a public radio show about things that are awesome. Each week on the show, host Jesse Thorn, "America's Radio Sweetheart," hosts in-depth discussions with personalities from the world of entertainment & the arts. Think of it like Conan O'Brien on public radio, or "Fresh Air," but more fun.
The program is carried on public radio stations around the country, and was the first public radio program west of the Mississippi to podcast. It has received plaudits from publications like Time Magazine (which called it "Pick of the Podcasts") and Salon.com (which wrote "If you've never heard The Sound of Young America, then The Sound of Young America is the greatest radio show you've never heard."). It also was honored as a "classic" podcast in iTunes Best of 2007. Since July of 2007, the show has been distributed by Public Radio International.
